How to Mod Star Trek Bridge Commander (STBC or BC for short)
This small guide will teach you how to install STBC mods.
When you get the mod, make sure you read the readme first for specific instructions.
If it's a "manual mod" or "copy-and-paste mod", usually in most mods there will be all three or any combination of these three folders: data, scripts, and sfx. In your mod, simply copy the folders into C:/Program Files/Activision/Bridge Commander , or wherever your BC directory is. Copy and replace.
If it's a "setup mod", run the exe file.
If it's a BCMOD or BCMP file, do the following steps:
Go to bcs-tng.com
Look under BCS-TNG Mods
Find "BCUT" (Bridge Commander Universal Tool)
Download it and install (no viruses, I've used this for months)
Run it. For Windows Vista/7 run it as an admin if possible, to make it work correctly. It will say it needs to find your BC directory. If it's at the C:/... address above, just let it find it.
Then go to BC Tools>Mod Installer and follow its instructions. (yes, it does take care of the other two types of mods. It's just better for you if you knew how it did it)
